The District Verulam Explorer Scout Unit was started in January 2004 with 10 Explorers and currently has around 40 Explorers. The Unit feeds from all of the District, Guides and outside Scouting.

We have had Summer Camps in Cornwall, the Lake District, South Devon, and South Wales with activities including Coasteering, Gorge Walking, Kayaking, Mountain Biking, Power Kiting and Surfing.

We have a varied and exciting programme planned and run by the Explorers and Leaders together.

The Explorers are for boys and girls between the ages of 14 and 18.

The Unit meets every Thursday at the 1st St. Albans (The Wadley Hut) on the Watford Road at 7.30 pm until 9.30 pm and the leader is Nigel Welford.
