Cubs celebrate Queens 90 years

On their first meeting of the summer term the Impala Cubs celebrated Her Majesty's 90th Birthday with a range of activities including writing Birthday cards to the Queen and playing with toys dating from the 1930's - courtesy of Verulamium Museum.

The hall and tables were decorated with Union Jacks  and they enjoyed participating in a celebratory - indoor - street party complete with cakes. Highlights of the session included the Bakelite telephone and its dial face with comments including 'it would take ages to dial 999', a woodpecker toy that pecked its way down the pole and the Jacob's Ladder toy that Akela demonstrated with great proficiency.
