St Albans Gang Show

St Albans Scout & Guide Gang Show is known as one of the best Gang Shows in the country, often winning awards etc

Well this years will soon be here, its on at the Alban Arena between 12th – 15th February – see www.stalbansgangshow.com Tickets can be ordered on-line or otherwise  via me – ordosteve@btinternet.com  Dont miss it !

Our Scouts, Cubs and Beavers will all be given the opportunity to attend via their section leaders.

 

Scouts start earlier / Children in Need

Our scouts are trialing an earlier start time, from December, and will now run from 7.00pm to 9.00pm on Wednesdays.

Our Impala Cubs ( Mondays) ran a very successful auction of their pre-loved toys and books etc to raise funds for Children in Need, and raised £125.00,  which the group were proud to match fund – Well done to them.

We wish all our parents / supporters a peaceful break over the year end, after a very full and rewarding scouting year.

New term, new volunteer leader

We welcome Katarina, who has joined the Impeesa Cubs leadership team this term. We hope you enjoy the 1st.

We are always looking for new adult helpers, to support our section leadership teams – – Can you help ?

Once again the Wadley Hut will be used as a Polling Station on the 12th December, so look out for news of the alternative activities arranged for our Riverbank Beavers and Verulam Explorers that day.

Well done to all our Beavers, Cubs ^ Scouts who paraded in Park Street at the Annual Remembrance Day service, we had the honour of leading the parade, with the Union Flag this year

Great Group Camp at Gilwell

At the end of June, all sections of the !st attended our Annual Group Camp at Gilwell, the weather was hot, and a great time was had by around 80 of our young people, supported by our leaders and parental occasional  helpers. Thanks to everybody who made this weekend possible. We shared a Camp Fire with the 4th, with the singing led by our GSL Terry Cavender.

A.G.M. Thursday 6th June 2019

Yep, another year has rolled around , and the AGM gives us a chance to review the year, thank the people who made it all possible, and look forward for the Group.

So please come along on Thursday 6th June at 7.30pm, there will be some wine / soft drinks, to get us all in the mood ! Both parents / supporters and our young people are very welcome. We have even had a dog in the past !

St Albans Half Marathon – Sunday 9th June

1st St Albans Scouts have been asked to help with the marshalling of this years half marathon on the 9th June, by manning a number of marshaling points in Bedmond Lane.  We need volunteers to help with this, parents or and our young people. It will be fun helping this great event.
